Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged with killing his father inside of a gated community on the valley’s west side.
Metro first got a 911 call around 11pm Monday from an open line with no one on the other end. In the background, though, dispatchers heard an argument followed by gunshots. Shortly afterward, Metro received a 911 call from the suspect’s mother, who had escaped to a neighbor’s house.
Upon arrival at the home near Charleston and Hualapai, police discovered a 70-year-old man dead at the scene from gunshot wounds.
Police located the couple’s son a short distance away about 90 minutes after the initial 911 call was made.
On Tuesday afternoon, Metro identified the son as 28-year-old Isaac Velasquez. Velasquez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder. The father's identity has not yet been released
