Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A man is in jail after police say he stole a vehicle with two young kids inside Monday night.

It happened around 8:30pm near Cheyenne and Decatur when the man stole the vehicle from a convenience store parking lot.
Police say when the man realized he had two kids in the car, he pulled over and let them out, then drove off.
Police spotted the car getting onto 15 South at Cheyenne and gave chase. The man crashed the car near Charleston and I-15 and ran off, but police captured him a short time later. The man, who hasn’t yet been identified, was taken to a hospital to get checked out, but the injuries weren’t thought to be serious.
The mom was reunited with her two kids. No one was hurt.
