
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The man charged with causing a fatal crash by driving the wrong way on I-11 over the weekend made his initial court appearance on Tuesday.
Martin Andino faces 15 counts overall, including reckless driving resulting in death and child abuse/neglect. Andino’s’s two children were in the car with him at the time of the crash Sunday morning. The children suffered minor injuries
During the Tuesday court appearance, prosecutors said that Andino was fleeing a hit and run accident when he caused the fatal collision.
Andino was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of I-11 at mile marker 6 when he struck the second vehicle. A 19-year-old woman and 22-year-old man from the Phoenix area died at the scene.
A Boulder City Justice of the Peace set Andino’s bail at $500,000, with his next court appearance scheduled for June 15th.
