
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – An officer-involved shooting just east of the Las Vegas Strip ended with a man dead Friday morning.
Police were originally called to a convenience store near Tropicana and Koval by employees who said that a man was causing a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, who they say then charged at them with a knife. Officers then fired shots, hitting the suspect. He was taken to a nearby hospital, but died from his wounds.
No one else was hurt.
The shooting marks the 10th involving Metro Police so far in 2024. There were 10 in all of 2023.
The officers involved will be placed on paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated. The name of the person who was shot has not yet been released.
