Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The man seen on video attacking a judge in a Las Vegas courtroom back in January pled guilty but mentally ill to a charge of attempted murder on Thursday.
In the shocking video, Deobra Redden was seen flying over the judge’s bench and attacking judge Mary Kay Houlthis as she was about to sentence him back on January 3rd.
Court officials eventually overpowered Redden, who was later indicted on charges related to the attack.
Redden’s attorney stated that though his client takes medication for schizophrenia, he had not taken meds on the day of the attack.
Redden is scheduled to be sentenced in November.
