Man sentenced for running Ponzi scheme to fund gambling habit

Las Vegas, Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A man who advertised as a “life” coach ‘was sentenced to prison Thursday for running a Ponzi scheme that bilked investors out of large amounts of money in order to fuel a gambling habit.

66-year-old Rodney Buckle was sentenced to 1 year in the Clark County Detention Center.

The Nevada Attorney General’s Office said Buckle never has a license to run a business in Nevada.

Investigators say that Buckle promised nice returns for investors in the stock market, but was spending it at casinos instead.

Along with the jail time, Buckle was ordered to pay $283,000 in restitution.
