
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The 2nd officer-involved shooting in 2025 for the North Las Vegas Police Department occurred Sunday afternoon after a man struck an officer with his car in a business parking lot.
According to the NLVPD, police were called to a business near Tropical Parkway and Nicco Way just before 2pm regarding a suspicious vehicle. Police talked to the driver for several minutes, but then the man got back in the car and drove off, hitting a child that was outside the car.
Police say the man then drove in circles around the parking lot and headed back toward officers. The car struck one of the officers, who then fired his weapon. The car continued out of the parking lot, stopping at a center median.
The man was taken to a hospital for his wounds. A woman and other kids that were in the car were taken to a hospital for evaluation, but none were seriously hurt.
The officer who was struck by the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
