
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A man is under arrest after police say he stole a Las Vegas Fire and Rescue ambulance, then crashed after chase that lasted close to an hour.
The ambulance was stolen near 4th and Fremont Street, where crews had been responding to a call.
The chase eventually ended up in North Las Vegas after the man who took it crashed into a second vehicle at the intersection of Centennial Parkway and Pecos.
The thief was taken into custody, while the driver of the car that was hit was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
LVFR officials say that the damage done to the ambulance was beyond repair, and it will be taken out of service.
