
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A multi-agency operation involving Las Vegas Metro Police and a number of other agencies resulted in the arrests of 14 sex offenders who weren’t compliant with their registration.
The operation was conducted October 28th through November 1st.
In total, by the end of the operation, 878 sex offenders were contacted, resulting in 6 arrests for failure to obey sex offender registration laws. An additional 8 arrests were made for subjects with sex offense violations and outstanding warrants.
Participating agencies included the LVMPD and its Sex Offender Apprehension Team, U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, Nevada State Police - Parole and Probation Sex Offender Unit, Boulder City Police Department and the Clark County School District Police Department.
LVMPD says sex offenders must verify their address with law enforcement according to the tier assigned to them.
- Tier 3 offenders required to check in quarterly
- Tier 2 offenders required to check in bi-annually
- Tier 1 offenders required to check in annually
