
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police have arrested a driver that they say struck and killed a pedestrian near Reid International Airport early Monday.
Metro first got the call just after 3am of a body in the road along southbound Paradise at Harmon. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say that the driver of a 20210 Nissan Altima struck the victim, whose identity has yet to be released. The say the person was walking southbound in one of the travel lanes of Paradise when they were hit.
The Nissan then left the scene.
The car was discovered in a neighborhood near Maryland Parkway and Tropicana later Monday morning. The driver of the car, identified Van Deangelo Burrell, was found soon afterward and taken into custody.
The incident marked the 97th traffic-related death in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
