Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police said Thursday night that a man has been arrested for tossing a Chihuahua into a dumpster and leaving the scene.
30-year-old Alexis Flores as the suspect in this case. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for three counts of Willful/Malicious Torture/Maim/Kill Dog/Cat/Animals.
The incident happened on Monday morning in a neighborhood near Smoke Ranch and Jones.
In video taken from a neighboring house, a shirtless man in red shorts, believed to be Flores, is seen holding the dog by its neck, then tossing it into a Republic Services bin and walking away. He returns shortly after and closes the bin’s lid.
The dog was discovered the next day and rushed to a veterinarian, where it’s said to be doing fine.
