
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a teenager at a northeast apartment complex.
The shooting happened Monday afternoon in a neighborhood near Lake Mead and Los Feliz.
Police say there was a group gathered in the apartment when gunfire broke out. The person who was shot, identified as James Lobue Jr, was rushed to U.M.C., but died from his wounds.
On Thursday, Metro announced that they had arrested 18-year-old Browdy Lee Shaffer as the shooting suspect. Shaffer was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon.
The circumstances surrounding Shaffer’s arrest weren’t made public, but he was picked up by the Criminal Apprehension Team, which is comprised of the FBI, Metro, Henderson and North Las Vegas Police Departments. Investigators are still working to piece together what led to the shooting, and how many other people were at the scene when the shooting occurred.
