Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A man is under arrest after police say he not only attacked the driver of the RTC bus he was riding, but also a number of Metro Police officers who were called to the scene to help.

It happened Monday night on Durango just north of Blue Diamond.

Police were first called to the scene regarding the unruly passenger around 7pm, with the driver of the bus saying he had been attacked with rocks and a trash can.

Metro says once officers arrived, the man – identified as 29-year-old Allyn McFarland - attempted to fight off police. Investigators say he bit one officer while striking others.

The severity of the injuries suffered by police and the bus driver weren’t said.

McFarland was taken first to U.M.C, where he was treated for injuries suffered in the scuffle. From there, he was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where he’s been charged with mayhem, battery with substantial bodily injury, battery on a protected person (5 counts) and mistreating a police animal.
