According to a statement released by the department, police were called out to the Walgreens location at Sunset and Fort Apache just after 1:30pm to assist the Clark County Fire Department with a combative patient.

Arriving officers located the person inside a restroom acting erratic. The subject struggled with officers as they attempted to take him into custody. Eventually, the officers handcuffed the subject and he then became unresponsive.

Officers immediately removed the handcuffs and medical personnel at the scene began rendering aid. An ambulance transported the man to Southern Hills Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the man, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
