Back on August 11th, police were staking out a carjacking suspect near Cheyenne and Pecos when they saw that same man carjack someone and the pursuit was on.

The chase, which included another attempted carjacking as well as exchanges of gunfire with police, ended when the suspect slammed his car head-on into a Metro Police K-9 unit near Charleston and Decatur. The officer suffered minor injuries. The K-9 (Boris) wasn’t hurt.

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Justin Venegas.
Venegas faces multiple charges that include attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and robbery with a deadly weapon. He also faces charges related to a carjacking the happened back in May.
