On the night of March 27, Metro says a pedestrian on a scooter was crossing in an uncontrolled marked crosswalk on Pecos-McLeod and McLeod when they were struck by a van, whose driver fled the scene.
The person on the scooter was transported to Sunrise Hospital, but died from their injuries.
The vehicle is described as a white cargo van that was towing a trailer. The van may also have damage to its front bumper.
