Las Vegas, NV (KXNT)- las Vegas Metro Police say they've closed another cold case murder, link a woman's death in the early 80s to the same killer of woman from 1979.
Diana Hanson, 22, disappeared on New Years Eve 1983. Her body was found later near Buffalo and Spring Mountain. The investigation showed she had been sexually assaulted.
DNA was recovered from her body but it did not help identify her killer at the time.
Now, nearly 4 decades later, advanced DNA technology and genealogy research helped linked Johnny Blake Peterson to this crime.
He's the same suspect who killed Kim Bryant in 1979.
A number of so-called cold-case killings have been closed recently as improved DNA testing technology has been employed.
