Minor injuries after CCFD engine rolls over on 215

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Three Clark County firefighters were taken to U.M.C. this morning after the engine they were riding in crashed on the Southern Beltway.

The crash occurred just before 6am at the bottom of the connector ramp to go from 215E to 15S

A statement from Clark County Fire read, "This morning at approximately 5:35AM, The Clark County Fire Department dispatched an engine to a reported motor vehicle accident near the I-15 and 215. intersection. In route to a call, additional notes were added that this accident was a rollover, and a person was trapped. The captain immediately called for additional resources, including CCFD‘s heavy rescue unit and an additional rescue.

While responding to the call, the heavy rescue unit rolled over. The initial rollover call with a person trapped was handled by the first dispatched engine and the rescue, there was no delay in extrication or treatment. She was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Additional CCFD units were dispatched for the new incident with the heavy rescue. All personnel from the heavy rescue were restrained and all self-extricated. Three of the personnel were transported with minor injuries"

The eastbound 215 exit to south I-15 will be closed for several hours.
