More ramp closures coming to U.S. 95

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – There’s an old saying that goes, “when one door closes, another one opens”. That can be applied to constructions projects in Las Vegas, with a bit a twist.

When one project ends, another one begins.

Such in the case in the area of U.S. 95 and Charleston. Not only is the very busy road down to 2 lanes in each direction until September, but for the past month drivers haven’t been able to access 95 North from Charleston.

That ended on Friday afternoon when the ramp re-opened to traffic. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that a new ramp closure is coming to that area. Beginning Monday morning at 5, the Charleston exit from 95 South will be shutting down, with that closure expected to last about a month.

In place of Charleston, drivers on 95 South can choose to exit beforehand at Eastern, or go past Charleston and exit at Boulder Highway.

All the restrictions and closures are due to widening work that’s occurring on 95 between Charleston and Eastern, as well as on Charleston at 95.
