Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Clark County Animal Control was called out in response to a sighting of a mountain lion in a residential community near Flamingo and Town Center.
On arrival, officers observed a female mountain lion weighing about 60 pounds up about 15 feet in a tree. Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) officers also were then notified and arrived shortly thereafter.
Clark County Animal Control and NDOW officers, using tranquilizer guns, were able to sedate the cat and Clark transported it to the foothills of the Spring Mountains, where NDOW officers administered medicine to reverse the effects the tranquilizer.
After about 90 minutes, the animal fully recovered and returned to the wild.
Officials believe the mountain lion is the same one that has been reported in the area in recent weeks.
