
LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) - Nevada reported 563 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, putting the total case number since the start of the pandemic to 648,605.
There were 20 new virus-related deaths reported, 16 from Clark County. That number currently stands at 9,895.

In Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District reported 516 new cases on Thursday, bringing the total number since the pandemic's onset to 490,652. There have been 7,633 virus-related deaths in the county.
Clark County has a total of 203 so-called "confirmed or suspected" Covid-19 hospitalizations (down 6 from Wednesday), with 42 patients in Covid ICU wards (down 8), and 22 patients currently on ventilators (flat).
Currently Churchill, Douglas, Esmeralda, Eureka, Lyon and Mineral counties are considered to be areas where its residents are considered at an "elevated risk" for contracting Covid-19.
Counties are considered an "elevated risk" if they meet two of three criteria — fewer than 100 average daily tests per 100,000 people in the county (212 for Clark County), more than 200 total cases per 100,000 people diagnosed and reported in the past 30 days (239 for Clark County), or a test positivity rate over two weeks of more than 8 percent when there are also more than 50 cases per 100,000 people (5% for Clark County).
Nevada's test positivity rate over the past 14 days is 5.5% (down .3% from Monday).
According to Nevada Health Response, 56.7% of Nevadans 5 and older have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. That figure is 56.1% for Clark County residents 5+.
