Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Nevada casinos stayed on a hot streak in March, according to new figures released Tuesday by the state’s Gaming Control Board.
In total, casinos won $1.312 billion from gamblers in March, the 6th highest monthly win on record, and the 25th straight month that casinos have topped the $1 billion win line.
As expected, the Las Vegas Strip led the way, accounting for 55% of the state’s gaming win ($24,580,327). Boosting the take was the annual NCAA men’s basketball tournament. People not only came to Vegas to wager on March Madness, but Las Vegas was also the host city for a Sweet Sixteen regional.
March’s numbers were a nice increase over February (which only had 28 days), but was still behind the numbers hit in March of 2022, which saw the state’s 2nd highest gaming win on record ($1.355 billion).
In other parts of Clark County, Downtown was up just over 1% month to month, the Boulder Strip was off 10%, North Las Vegas was down 1.38%, Laughlin’s win fell just over 2% and Mesquite’s just under 3%
Overall year to year, Nevada’s gaming win is up roughly 4.5% from 2022.
