Citing the availability of vaccines, COVID19 tests and accepting the virus will be part of Nevada's future, Governor Steve Sisolak says he's confident the state can reopen to 100% capacity by June 1.

In a Tuesday press conference, the Governor pushed forward a timeline where the social distancing mandate would be lifted on May 1, with the mask mandate staying in place. He says local governments will then take over the process of safely reopening.

Clark County, the most populous county in Nevada, says it has a plan ready to submit for review.

Sisolak also says local school districts will have May 1 as their start line to discuss mitigation and social distancing procedures on campuses. The Nevada Gaming Control Board will have the final say on capacity for casinos and gaming establishments in the state.

The Governor says the medical review on the Janssen vaccine by the federal government should not slow down the process of getting Nevada fully reopened.
