Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The Nevada Highway Patrol is hoping that they can find some witnesses to a fatal crash that happened on 15 North near the northern 215 Beltway late last month.

NHP says that on the night of August 27, a black 2020 Can-Am RD Ryker three-wheel motorcycle was traveling northbound on I-15 approaching the northern 215 transition ramp. For reasons unknown, the vehicle entered the painted gore area and struck a construction barrel, ejecting the rider.

The rider came to rest on the fog line, partially in the right travel lane. An unknown light-colored sedan and an unknown dark blue sedan (possibly a 2016 Hyundai with front end damage and partially missing the front bumper) both struck the rider and continued traveling northbound without stopping. The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased on scene.

The rider of the Can-Am three wheeled motorcycle has been identified as 71 year-old William Greg Whitnet from Henderson.

Nevada Highway Patrol is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or observed the two vehicles of interest to call them at (702)486-4100 or Crime Stoppers at (702)385-5555. Callers can remain anonymous.
