NPS officials looking for man who assaulted another at Lake Mead

Las Vegas, NV (NPS) - The National Park Service Investigative Services Branch (ISB) is seeking information regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred back on Tuesday at the Las Vegas Bay Campground in Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

According to park officials, a visitor was assaulted by another camper. The victim dialed 911 for assistance, and the assailant fled into the nearby desert.

The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Guy Miranda, is described as approximately 5’8” tall, weighing 175 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes. Miranda has an extensive criminal history and is considered armed and dangerous.

US Park Rangers of Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Special Agents with the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch are urging anyone with any relevant information regarding the incident to come forward.
