Officer-involved shooting leaves one man dead

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Las Vegas Metro Police shot and killed a man early Tuesday who they say charged at them with a knife.

Police first got the call just before 1am of a suicidal man in the 2500 block of South Eastern Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a man armed with an edged, bladed weapon. Less-lethal options were used in an attempt to disarm the man, but he charged at the officers and shots were fired.

The man, who has yet to be identified, was taken to a hospital but died from his wounds.

The incident marks the second officer-involved shooting in 2024 for Metro. The names of the officers involved will be released after 48 hours.
