Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – For the second consecutive day, an officer-involved shooting in the valley ends with an armed suspect dead.
Just after 7:30pm Wednesday, police responded to a call of a person who had been robbed by a man with a knife in the parking lot of the Target store at Flamingo and Maryland Parkway.
Officers located the suspect nearby and demanded he drop the knife. Police say that the man refused commands, and instead charged at them. Metro says they first attempted to use less lethal options to diffuse the situation, but that didn’t work. One of the officers then fired his weapon, striking the suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the person who was shot has not yet been released, nor has the name of the officer who fired the fatal shots.
On Tuesday, officers shot and killed a triple-murder suspect in North Las Vegas after they say he refused to drop his weapon.
