
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - A shooting involving Las Vegas Metro Police ended with one person dead early Tuesday
Just after midnight, officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting in the 6900 block of Wine River Drive, near Warm Springs and Eastern. Officers arrived in the area, heard screaming from inside a residence and kicked in the door to gain entry.
Once inside, officers found two people fighting, one of whom was armed with a knife. Officers ordered the person to drop the knife. At the same time, one of the officers discharged his firearm, striking one of the individuals.
Officers took the other individual into custody and provided medical attention to the person who was shot.
Medical personnel transported that person to UMC, but he died from his wounds. No officers were hurt.
This is the 13th officer-involved shooting of 2024. Per LVMPD policy, the identity of the officer involved will be released after 48 hours.
