Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – One person was killed in a crash that involved a Metro Police cruiser on Monday night.
The accident happened just after 6pm at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Flamingo. Police say the Metro officer was heading south through the intersection on a green light and was struck by a sedan that ran the red while heading westbound on Flamingo.
Both the driver of the sedan and the Metro officer, identified Tuesday as 36-year-old Christopher Mitchell, were rushed to a hospital. The driver later died, but the Mitchell'’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
The name of the juvenile driver that ran the red light hasn't been released.
