Las Vegas, NV (NV) - Officials with McCarran Airport released numbers for February and, much like the gaming win, the negative impact of the coronavirus continues.

Compared with the same month in 2020, passenger traffic at McCarran was off close to 60 percent. 1.6 million people used the airport last month, compared with 3.8 million in February of 2020, the last moth before pandemic restrictions took over.

On the positive side, the number of people using the airport improved by more than 100,000 from January's figure.

A huge lack of international travelers continues to impact the airport. International’s travel to Las Vegas was down 97 percent from the same month a year ago,

Southwest Airlines continues to be McCarran’s busiest carrier, but even they were off 57 percent. Behind Southwest were Spirit, American, Delta and Frontier
