
Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A portion of Desert Inn Road was shut down east of Decatur Thursday after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a school bus.

The crash happened around 3:45pm, leading to a closure of Desert Inn from Decatur east to Cameron.
Metro Police says the driver of the bus was making a right turn when it struck a 65-year-old woman as she was crossing, knocking her down. The bus then ran over the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrian's death marks the 122nd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for the year 2021.
Earlier in the day, Metro says a motorcyclist was killed when police say he ran a stop sign and slammed into a pickup truck along Vegas Drive west of MLK. The driver of the truck stayed on scene and cooperated with investigators. The crash remains under investigation.
