Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – A pedestrian was struck and killed trying to cross a busy section of I-15 early Friday.

The person who was struck, identified Friday afternoon as 32-year-old Christopher Moran, was struck just before 5am on I-15 South near Tropicana. Moran was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident forced Nevada State Police to close the freeway past Flamingo, resulting in massive delays as drivers were forced off of 15S at the westbound Flamingo exit.

I-15 South reopened to traffic around 9:30am.
