Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Travelers heading down to southern California are being told to plan ahead to avoid being inconvenienced by a planned power outage along I-15 south of Primm.

The outage will be happening Wednesday night into Thursday morning between the hours of 10pm and 10am, and will be impacting a 90-mile stretch along the I-15 near Baker.

During the outage periods, services like restaurants, gas stations, and electric vehicle charging ports around Baker will not be available. Travelers are strongly urged to plan their journeys accordingly, considering the limited amenities during this time.

Southern California Edison says the outages are necessary to conduct what they’re calling “reliability upgrades”
