Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - One person is in stable condition after a shooting involving Las Vegas Metro Police on Thursday morning.

It originally began when police located a car that had stolen plates on it. Police attempted to stop the car, but the driver took off and the chase was on.

Metro says that after several reckless moves that almost caused accidents, the vehicle pulled into an apartment complex parking lot at Tropicana and Nellis.

After the car pulled into the parking lot, Metro says one of the occupants fled. When confronted by police, that person turned and pointed a gun. That’s when that person was shot. A second person in the vehicle was also arrested.

No police officers were hurt.

The shooting marks the 11th in Metro’s jurisdiction so far in 2024.
