Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Police say a Las Vegas man had magic mushrooms and cocaine on him when he slammed head on into another car near Farm Road and Tenaya early Monday.
The crash killed the other driver, Identified as 64-year-old Susan Villella. She died at the scene.
27 year old Alejandro Carrion only suffered minor injuries in the crash. Police found the drugs when they went to talk to Carrion at U.M.C. The police report said Carrion smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot and watery. Investigators say that Carrion had told them had had been to several bars before taking to the road and fell asleep at the wheel.
The charges carrion faces include Carrion faces charges that include: DUI, above the legal limit resulting in death, reckless driving resulting in death or severe bodily harm, possession of a controlled substance (2 counts) and driving without a license
During an initial court appearance Tuesday, a judge set Carrion’s bail at 8-thousand dollars. His next hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
