Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Once again this year, the Pop-Up Produce Stands have returned, giving people increased access to affordable, locally grown, organic fresh fruits and vegetables.

The pop-up stand will be open on Tuesday from noon until 3pm (or while supplies last) with 4 more scheduled through 2023 at the Bonneville Transit Center on Bonneville east of Main Street. Customers can use their SNAP/EBT card, cash, debit, or credit cards.

The pop-up stands are credited with helping to ease the problem of food insecurity in Southern Nevada. According to Three Square, nearly 350,000 people in Clark County are food insecure, meaning they are unable to access or afford enough nutritious food for their overall health and well-being.

The produce stands program is a partnership among the Southern Nevada Health District’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and Prevail Marketplace.

Additional dates in which the stands will be open:
- Tuesday, September 5
- Tuesday, October 3
- Tuesday, November 7
- Tuesday, December 5

Last year’s markets resulted in over 5,200 pounds of produce sold and $6,955 in total sales, with over 20% of total sales from SNAP/EBT transactions.
