Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Avoiding I-15 between the Southern Beltway and the Spaghetti Bowl is never a bad idea, but it’s especially true this weekend, when the Nevada Department of Transportation will close one of the busiest portions of that stretch.
Between Friday night at 9 and Monday morning at 5, I-15 will be closed in both directions between Russell and Flamingo. The closure is need to accommodate bridge demolition work that’s happening on the Tropicana overpass at I-15.
Plenty of freeway on and off-ramps will be closed, as well.
The ramps from both sides of the Southern Beltway to 15N, the Las Vegas Boulevard and Russell onramps to 15N, the Harmon half-interchange ramps at I-15, and the Flamingo onramp to 15S will all be closed this weekend.
Tropicana over I-15 is closed until Tuesday morning.
The Nevada Department of Transportation is asking drivers to just avoid using I-15 between 215 and the Spaghetti Bowl this weekend.
Alternative routes on the surface streets include Jones and Rainbow (for those west of I-15) or Maryland Parkway and Eastern (for those east of I-15)
