Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Two people, including a former professional basketball player, have been arrested and charged with the murder of a woman earlier this month.

Las Vegas Metro Police say that back on December 7th, two people walked into one of their substations to report that their friend, Marayana Rodgers, was missing.

Metro investigators learned that a couple of nights prior, Rodgers had gone out with a girlfriend, identified as 19-year-old Sakari Harnden and her boyfriend, identified as 27-year-old Chance Comanche.

While not yet saying what evidence led to their arrests, Metro took Harnden into custody on December 13th. Commanche was arrested by the members of the California FBI Criminal Apprehension Team in Sacramento on December 15th.

Rodgers, a medical assistant from Washington, was in Las Vegas visiting friends. Police say her remains were discovered in a desert area outside of Henderson based on information they received following the pair’s arrests.

Comanche had been in the valley for several days in early December, playing for the Stockton Kings of the NBA G-League. Stockton is affiliated with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. The team released Comanche following his arrest.

Harndon’s bail was set at $500,000, while Comanche was awaiting extradition back to Nevada.
