Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – Tear gas canisters were set off by Las Vegas Metro Police downtown on Wednesday night to disperse a group that was protesting the Trump Administration’s illegal immigration sweeps.
Protesters started to gather around 7pm at Las Vegas Boulevard and Clark Avenue, with several hundred eventually on scene.
At roughly 9pm, Metro declared the gathering “unlawful” and ordered the crowd to disperse, saying that some were “engaging in illegal activity”. While some obeyed, others did not, and the tear gas was deployed around 9:30pm
Metro says they arrested 94 protesters, with four officers suffering injuries. There were no reports of serious damage to any downtown buildings.
