Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Harry Reid International Airport announced on Wednesday that it is expanding its launch of a new pilot program with the Aira ASL app, offering hearing impaired travelers live, on-demand American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation while at the airport.
Arriving ahead of the 2025 DeafNation World Expo & Conference in Las Vegas, the Clark County Department of Aviation says that the program will welcome thousands of deaf and hard of hearing visitors with a more accessible and confident travel experience.
The Aira ASL app connects travelers with certified ASL interpreters through secure, live video calls directly from their smartphones, to help ensure clear communication during check-in, security screening, and while navigating the terminal. This service is available at no cost to travelers while they are at Reid International, but also at the Henderson Executive Airport and North Las Vegas Airport .
Travelers are encouraged to download the Aira ASL app prior to arrival or upon reaching the airport to receive live ASL support when needed.
