According to Teamsters Local 631, the new five-year collective bargaining agreement includes wage and pension increases and improved insurance benefits. It also includes language that resolves issues the union had with member treatment in the workplace.

Last month, the union had voted to authorize a strike should a new contract agreement fail to be reached. The old contract expired on Tuesday the last day of May.

Trash pickup service will continue uninterrupted.
