Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Combine a long holiday weekend with the unofficial start of summer, then add a populace just itching to get out and play, and you have the perfect mix for one very busy weekend in Las Vegas.
And a crazy Memorial Day on the roads.
At one point on Monday, the delays on I-15 South toward California stretched an estimated 26 miles. That's pretty much bumper to bumper traffic from the outer edges of Las Vegas all the way down to Primm.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says an estimated 250 stops were made on Monday.
Of that number, 80 of the stops were for shoulder/off road violations and five of them were DUI arrests. The majority of the traffic stops were for moving violations. One arrest was also made after a domestic violence warrant was issued.
