Officers were called to an area near 11th and Lewis just before 10am on reports of a man with a gun. When police spotted the man in question, they say he ran into an abandoned house and the standoff was on. Hours into it, a Metro spokesman said the man began firing rounds at random, striking nearby buildings. SWAT officers fired one round, killing the man, when they say he pointed his gun at officers.

That man died at the scene.

A second barricade situation happened near Charleston and u.s. 95. Not as many details are known about this one, but it involved Henderson SWAT. More details are expected to released in that incident on Wednesday.

Neither the names of the suspects nor the officers involved have been released.
