Shade Tree Shelter asking for Easter donations

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The Shade Tree, a 24-hour accessible shelter designed to specifically meet the needs of women and children in crisis, is seeking Easter-themed donations for the children currently residing at the shelter.

The organization is planning a socially distanced on-site celebration, and is asking for the public’s help in the form of donations of the following items:

·         Already-assembled Easter baskets
·         Empty plastic eggs
·         Individually wrapped candy

Staff at the shelter are planning a celebration that includes an Easter basket for each child, an egg hunt, and a special meal for the children and their mothers. Currently, there are 35 children residing at The Shade Tree.

For those who wish to contribute to the Easter celebration, in-person donations may be made at the shelter located at 1 West Owens Ave., North Las Vegas, NV 89030, by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please email donations@theshadetree.org or call 702-385-0072.

The Shade Tree requests that no more than two people drop off items. Please note that social distancing protocols will be followed during the drop-off by The Shade Tree staff.
