Shooting involving Metro Police sends one man to the hospital

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – An officer-involved shooting in the southeast valley sent one man to a hospital early Wednesday.

Las Vegas Metro Police received a call just after 4:30am about a man threatening customers with a knife at a convenience store on Boulder Highway and Russell.

Upon their arrival, officers told the man to drop the two knives he was carrying. Instead, then man tried to enter the store. Officers then used so-called “less lethal” methods to subdue to the man, who then charged at police and was shot.

The man was taken to a hospital where his condition isn’t known.

No officers were hurt. Russell was closed between Boulder Highway and Hollywood all morning for the investigation.
