
Las Vegas, NV (AP) - A person who opened fire on a crowd of young people gathered in a parking lot near Sunset Park early Friday, wounding six of them, is dead after a second person fired back, authorities said.
Las Vegas Metro Police said the shooting happened just after midnight.
A group of older teenagers were loitering and drinking when an argument broke out and a male went and got a gun from a vehicle. He opened fire into the crowd, injuring six teenagers.
Someone then shot back and hit the original shooter.
Both Metro and Henderson Police departments received multiple calls about wounded teens being brought to area hospitals from several people after the shooting. Metro said the male they identified as the original shooter died at a hospital, while the six who were wounded remain hospitalized.
