Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - The Southern Nevada Health District is reminding residents that COVID-19 testing is available at numerous locations throughout the community, and that people seeking testing should visit one of the many community sites rather than visiting a hospital emergency department for testing.
The Health District recently expanded its testing site hours at three College of Southern Nevada locations and mobile testing units and kiosks are scheduled for local libraries and community centers.
“It is important to keep our health care system from becoming overwhelmed as we see increases in COVID-19 cases at this time of year,” said Dr. Fermin Leguen, District Health Officer for the Southern Nevada Health District. “We continue to encourage COVID-19 testing, especially for people who have symptoms or who have had recent travel during the holidays. It is also important to get vaccinated against COVID-19, to complete the appropriate vaccine series, and to get a booster dose when eligible.”
The SNHD says that people who have mild symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home and self-isolate for five days after their test. If they continue to be asymptomatic, they can leave isolation but must wear a mask for five more days.
