Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Southwest Airlines representatives say that they will apply to the U.S. Department of Transportation for new, daily nonstop service between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
The carrier is seeking one of five new round-trip flights made available at DCA through the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024.
Currently, American Airlines offers the only daily non-stop between Las Vegas and D.C., and that flight only operates once a day.
If they get the go-ahead, Southwest’s Vegas to D.C. route would also operate every day of the week.
It’s not known how long it might take before Southwest could get approval or when flights could start to be offered.
