Samuel Schmid refused to go to court on Monday, so a judge ordered him brought to court Tuesday “by any means necessary”. Schmid faces additional charges including robbery, battery and conspiracy, records show.

Schmid was ordered held without bail during his brief appearance. He'll next appear in court on Thursday, June 2nd.

Schmid, 28, was booked on Friday into the Clark County Detention Center following his arrest on May 16th in Riverside County, California.

Schmid is accused of driving a stolen black Mercedes SUV that backed up May 11 and ran over 60-year-old Alicia Gibellina, fatally injuring her, after she went outside the Dotty’s at Flamingo and Jones to confront a man fleeing with a purse stolen from a customer.

Records show that Schmid has a lengthy criminal history that includes being sentenced at least twice for crimes committed in Nevada.
