Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) – The man charged with striking and killing two Nevada State Police troopers along I-15 last week had his preliminary hearing date set on Tuesday.
46-year-old Jemarcus Williams will have that preliminary hearing on January 30th at 9am. He’s currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center on $500,000 bail.
Williams faces numerous charges in relation to the incident that happened on the morning of November 29th.
The 2 troopers were responding to a call of a driver reported to be asleep at the wheel on the D Street exit from 15 North when they were hit by a driver who fled the scene. Evidence led investigators to Williams, who was arrested hours later at his apartment not far from the scene.
Metro investigators said Tuesday that the badge of one of the officers who was killed was found inside of Williams’ vehicle.
Funeral services for Trooper Alberto Felix will be held Friday morning at Central Church in Henderson. The funeral for NSP Sergeant Michale Abatte will be Monday, December 11th, also at Central Church. The public is invited to attend.
There will also be a candlelight vigil for the officers on Wednesday between 5:30pm outside of Allegiant Stadium in Parking Lot E.
